8 Laws of Health: Jesus Christ Provision for Humanity (Nutrition and Diet)

What
if I told you that Jesus Christ cares for you abundantly, even in the
consumption of food and the products we put in our body? The bible provides the
answer so vividly; 3 John 1:2 and 1 Corinthians 10:31 highlights
the correlation between the soul prospering and being in good health, not to
mention, the body is indeed God’s temple. We aren’t only defiling the temple by
the marks and cuts (Leviticus
19:28) we inflict on ourselves, we do the same damage by the way we eat. The
type of food you consume will affect your general health; many are lying on
hospital beds as a result of improper diet. Incorporating uncomplicated changes
like green vegetables and fruits into your diet will go a long way in combating
anyone’s aches and pains.
Similarly,
a converted Christian should be recognizably different in all fashion to that
of the world, in character (Galatians 5:22-26), in
love (John
13:34-35), and the treatment of others (Ephesians 4:32). In the light
of one-man’s transgression of God’s Law (Romans 5:12), sin entered the
world, unintended consequences resulted from it, the effects of the Fall are
various and extensive. Unfortunately, infirmities are one of them.
It
is of utmost importance to treat our body in a manner Jesus Christ intended. Christ’s
original diet for men consisted of nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits (Genesis 1:29). The consumption
of these wonderful foods have been linked to the reversal of today’s common
diseases and sicknesses.
Evidently,
the world is taking notice. The rise of Veganism has been at an all-time high. Many
scientific studies are making interesting and significant information known,
information that the Bible teaches, but Christians often fail to educate the
world. In the Bible, Daniel and the three Hebrews boys, Hananiah, Mishael, and
Azariah are offered the king’s meat, however, Daniel was careful about God’s interdiction
of “unclean foods” (Daniel 1:8).
Under those circumstances, Daniel opted for the unfashionable diet of
vegetables. Following ten days, Daniel and his friends became more advantageous
and more grounded than the Babylonians. For this reason and many others, the
connection between our diet and health are very much apparent.
After
all, when God created Adam and Eve, He put them in the Garden of Eden not only
tend to it, He intended for the first couple to utilize the garden as the
source for all their nourishment; such diet likewise exhibited their reliance
upon God. They were created to be perfect. How fascinating it sounds when we
think and ponder on the thought that these perfect beings were originally meant
to consume nuts, grains, vegetables, and fruits! Now like the hymn says, “ponder
anew what the almighty can do” … in our fallen nature, how beneficial would it
be to integrate this diet into our lives?
