Whenever there is a worldwide pandemic, there is a worldwide fear. Worldwide, not just among non-believers but in God’s believers. The church is confronted with a health crisis and a crisis of faith. Whenever there is a state of emergency, people will do things they will not usually do to save themselves. A person who would not regularly wash their hands throughout the day, is now washing their hands every moment and chance they get. People who usually do not watch the news, are glued to the T.V and watching for notifications on their phones for updates. People who could care less, care more because they want to live. A man will do, whatever you tell him to do, even if he has never done it, to save his life.

“For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it…” -Ephesians 5:29

People care about living. When life takes a shift, people's priorities shift. They think different, they feel different and they act different. In every state of emergency, people’s state of mind changes. Change brings change. When we sinned, we were in a state of emergency. God did what He would not usually do, to save us. God Killed. God died. God became us to save us. The virus of sin is a pandemic that has been killing and destroying our world since the sins of our fore parents. And still, in this state of emergency. God would put us in a state of emergency, to see our state before Him. God would design, that our minds by afflictions, trials and various circumstances would draw our attention to Him. Not out of a forceful manner, but out of wisdom and providence to awaken us to our real state of emergency, which is sin.

God's love for us is ever linked with His hatred for sin. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son for the sins of the world. God wants our hearts. He wants our lives. He wants our attention. He wants to save us, so He sends us whatever is necessary to save us. Be it good or evil. Blessing or curse. Trials or favor. Sunshine or rain. Grace or punishment. Justice or mercy. Even the permission of the Enemy to sift us, if it would awaken us to see our true condition. Which in itself is in a state of emergency. And so, we cannot return to business as usual. Life as usual. Because the unusual will now be the usual.

We must die a greater death to self, than we ever have before. We must desire a greater experience than we ever have before. We must sense a greater need for God's spirit than we've ever have before. Seeing, that we are approaching a crisis, that the world has never seen before. It will get worse before it gets better. But we will get help before it gets out of hand.
